PURPOSE: To enable to load the roll-shaped body safely and efficiently by a method wherein a feeding device is provided ona carriage capable of running under a condition of riding over the load-carrying platform of a truck.

CONSTITUTION: When the carriage 6 is run over the load-carrying platform of the truck from behind thereof under a condition of riding thereover and the feeding devices 15W26 equipped with a stopper roller 20 having a cushioning function and a bridge panel 21 approache the driver's cab of the truck so as to leave a space corresponding to the space for about one piece of the roll-shaped body A, the carriage 6 is stopped. Subsequently, when a hydraulic cylinder 23 is extended to pivot an arm 16 clockwise and concurrently the bridge panel 21 counterclockwise, the roll-shaped body A at the foremost line is rolled on an inclined panel 13 by gravity and is loaded onto the load-carrying platform. As the carriage 6 is retreated by a length corresponding to one piece of the roll-shaped body, the roll-shaped body at the foremost line is fed onto the load-carrying platform of the truck in the same manner.
