Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide manufacturing process operational data which are considered to affect generation of flaws in a product when flaws of various kinds of generation factors are included in the manufacturing process of steel plates.
SOLUTION: The quality distribution in the longitudinal direction of the steel plates is obtained and accumulated by using a quality measuring means to continuously measure the quality of the traveling strip-like steel plates, the components are extracted by the independent component analysis from the accumulated quality distribution information, and the correlation between each component and each manufacturing process operational parameter is evaluated. The manufacturing process operational parameters which greatly affect the quality of each steel plate can be understood thereby, and the product quality can be improved.
