Abstract:

PURPOSE: To allow a robot to precisely travel up to a target position maintaining a regulated traveling speed without being deviated from a normal track by using a traveling direction moving distance and data for obstacles at the time of allowing the robot to travel on a straight distance and executing inference based upon a fuzzy rule.
CONSTITUTION: A drive control means 1 controls the movement of a robot by utilizing information from respective means such as a position identifying means for computing the current absolute position of the robot based upon a traveling distance detecting means 6 for the moving robot and a direction angle detecting means 9 for detecting a charge in a traveling direction, an obstacle detecting means 10 for sensing the existence of an obstacle around the robot and a distance from the obstacle and a robot relative position arithmetic means and executing inferene such as fault evasion (inference means), straight travel (inference means) and constant speed travel (inference means).
