This picture data managing device 1 is provided with an input means 1a for inputting picture data, an analyzing means 1b for executing preset analysis processing to the picture data inputted by the input means 1a, and a registering means 1c for using the result obtained by the analyzing means 1b as a key for retrieval and registering the key for retrieval and the picture data inputted by the input means 1c while making them correspond to each other.
