To provide a monitoring device with which the operating state of industrial facilities is shown and both a detected fault and an alarm can be effectively identified at the same time.

A device 1 for monitoring the operation of an industrial facility 3 having a functional member 5 is provided with groups G1, G2...Gn of detectors D1-1...Dn-1 for detecting the operating state of the facility 3. Each group is related to specified points to be monitored. The device is further provided with a display unit 11 equipped with a means for communicating the operating state picked up by the detectors. This device is also provided between the detectors and the display unit with a means 15 for processing the operating state picked up by the detectors and controlling selective display of information related to the total operating state of preset groups of the detectors on the display unit 11.
