PURPOSE: To obtain a protecting device for water-cooling nozzle with which the uniformity of dispersion of cooling water is not prevented by continuously hanging/arranging plural protecting beams of cooling head which is supported in the width direction and rotatable in the longitudinal direction.
CONSTITUTION: A width direction beam 5 having rotary supporting parts 3 is provided in the position directly under the water-cooling header 1 and plural longitudinal direction movable beams 4 are fixed in parallel. When the interval in the longitudinal direction of the water-cooling header is defined as A, the length (1) of the movable beam 4 is made a little longer than A. And intervals (g) are taken as not larger than the min. width of a steel sheet (p). When the tip of the steel sheet (p) is upward curved, the sheet is passed on the cooling line as springing up the longitudinal direction movable beams 4, so the steel sheet is normally coiled with a coiler 13. And, even when cooling water discharged from the nozzles 2 interferes with the movable beams 4, parts in which water is not directly splashed on the surface of the steel sheet are not generated and the max. temp. part 144 is not generated.
