The device for storing and managing additional information in the file system comprises: a retrieving part which retrieves an unused region where the information of a file stored in a directory entry is not used; a storage unit which stores additional data into the retrieved region unused; and an additional information managing part which locates the position of the additional information by using the signature and checksum of the stored additional information. The method for storing and managing additional information in the file system includes: a first step for retrieving a region where the information of the file stored in the directory entry is not used; a second step for storing additional information into the retrieved region unused; and a third step for locating the position of the additional information by using the signature and checksum of the stored additional information.
