To easily and safely authenticate users for every system.
The device is equipped with a user DB 503 in which log-in names and passwords as account information of an OS are stored separately from the account information of the OS, a CUI/GUI 501 by which a user 500 inputs a log-in name and a password when requesting authentication, and an authentication demon 502 which performs user authentication by judging whether or not the log-in name and password inputted to the CUI/GUI 501 matches the log-in name and the password stored in the user DB 503.
