To simplify inclination control by detecting whether an inclination of a looper carriage is in the allowable range or not based on a travel position of a spherical body rollable in the inclining direction when a carriage is inclined.
This inclination monitoring device 1 is arranged so that a working face 3 having a recessed upper face is formed on an upper face of a base 2 having a horizontal bottom face by crossing two inclined faces having equal inclining angles 4 to the horizontal face and a spherical body 5 rollable is placed thereon. Further, a bottom face of the base 2 is placed on an horizontal face of the looper carriage and is arranged so that the direction of true inclination of the inclined face is parallel to a roll axis of the looper carriage. The spherical body 5 is rolled on the working face 3 in arrow directions 8 or 9 when the base 2 exceeds a control limit of the inclining angle 4 and hits a stopper 19, the spherical body 5 is stopped at positions of 5a or 5b, whether or not an inclination of the looper carriage is in the allowable range is discriminated by a detection device 6.
