Abstract:
A heat recovery system from domestic and industrial waste effluents uses a pit which is divided into three sections. A preclarification and settling section is divided by a slow sand filter and a steel partition from a storage chamber with a heat exchanger. An overflow leads to the third section, a buffer tank which is sepd. from the other two by an insulating partition. During a heat recovery cycle, fresh influent is held in the buffer tank for the next cycle and is not allowed to reheat the already cooled waste of the present cycle.
