To improve the productivity and to automatically operate the device by turning a turning device when a winding cassette is reached at a prescribed filling amount with a controller of co-operating with a sensor device to detect the filling amount in the winding cassette.
A cable K is wound on a core of a winding cassette 21 following to a prescribed winding characteristics with a lying device 6. When obtaining a prescribed filling amount, a signal is emitted from the controller, on this signal a motor is connected and rotating is begun. At the same time, a motor of an empty cassette 22 is connected and it is brought to a requiring circumferential speed. With the rotation of the motor, a supporting plate 40 is turned together with the motor and the winding cassette. When executing this turning only by 180 degree as a whole, both winding cassettes 21, 22 are changed their positions. Because the rotating motion of the winding cassette 21 is continued during this turning motion, the cable K is supplied following to the prescribed lying characteristics.
