Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate the occurrence of troubles due to remaining cakes to enable an automatic operation by using as filter material a metal mesh which has good cake separation properties and disposing a scraper in each filter chamber to mechanically scrape down cakes and suitably remove them.
CONSTITUTION: Disk-shaped filter plates 3 each having a raw water feed hole 3b in the center in said plate are movably provided along a guide rail. A drive shaft 6 is inserted into the holes 3b which are in communication with each other. The base part of each scraper 7 provided in the plate 3 is slidably mounted to the shaft 6 and a scraping blade 7a of each scraper 7 is brought close to a metal mesh 8 stretched over a filter floor 3c of the plate 3. By widening the space between the filter plates 3 to allow the shaft 6 to rotate in a reciprocating manner, cakes on the metal mesh 8 can be scraped down and removed completely. As a result, the occurrence of failure due to remaining cakes can be avoided so that an automatic operation is made possible.
