To straighten a camber after rolling over the whole range of thickness even when the thickness of a rolled stock is varied with the straightening device which is attached to a reverse mill such as a roughing mill of a hot-rolling line.
This device consists of straightening plates which are installed on one side or both sides of a roll above the pass line and vertically moving mechanisms for pressing the straightening plates against the rolled stock. It is preferable that the vertically moving mechanism has plural-stage position adjusting mechanism, a mechanism which is operated with a motor or a hydraulic cylinder is preferable and a mechanism with which the straightening plates are vertivaly rotatad taking the end part on the side of the roll as an axis is preferable. Furthermore, it is preferable to have controllers for deciding vertically moving quantity based on the thickness of the rolled stock or the roll gap at the rolling of a preceding pass. In this way, the generation of trouble by the camber of the rolled stock is remarkably decreased to bring about a large number of effects of the improvement in the efficiency of the work, the improvement of the yield of manufacture, or the like.
