Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and system for wave shaping and to provide a device having large freedom for wavelength conversion.
SOLUTION: The device includes at least two nonlinear loop mirrors (NOLM1, 2). Each of NOLM1, 2 includes a first optical coupler 6 having first and second optical paths 2, 4 which are directionally coupled, a loop optical path 8 consisting of a nonlinear optical medium which connects the first and second optical paths, and a second optical coupler 12 having a third optical path 10 which is directionally coupled to the loop optical path. The second optical path 4 of NOLM1 is optically connected to the third optical path 10 of NOLM2.
