PURPOSE: To utilize flux to pre-treatment with the max. efficiency by causing molten iron to flow toward the cross-sectional face center of dropped flow in a guide trough, joining the flow and supplying the flux for treating the molten iron into the confluent part of the flowing molten iron stream.
CONSTITUTION: A step 3 is arranged at the discharging end of a molten iron trough 1. A reaction vessel 2 is connectedly arranged at the downstream side thereof. The molten iron stream from the molten iron trough 1 is guided to the bottom of reaction vessel 2 through a step part 3 with a guide trough 4. Plural molten iron stream inlets 8, to which the molten iron drops from the molten iron trough 1, are arranged at the upper end of guide trough 4. A molten iron stream inlets 8 are set at the position where the molten iron flows toward the cross-sectional face center of the dropped flow 11 in the guide trough 4 and is joined each other. Together with this, a supplying hole in a flux adding device 5 for treating the molten iron is set at the confluent part of flowing molten iron stream 10 to supply the flux. By this method, the added flux is involved into the flowing-down molten iron stream and be deeply supplied to the molten iron in the reaction vessel.
