This device 1 for separating/removing the underwater suspended solids such as a red tide is provided with a water tank 3 which has an intake 4 of the water to be treated and is divided into two sections, a section to communicate with the intake 4 and a section to indirectly communicate through a belt-like filter medium 5 formed into a endless ring shape, plural rotating rollers 6 which are disposed on the water and the underwater and around which the belt-like filter medium 5 is wound, a rotation drive for driving these rollers 6, water sucking ports 8 each of which is arranged between two opposite filter media formed by being wound around the underwater roller 6 to communicate with a pump 7, a peeling device 10 for peeling an underwater suspended solid-containing deposit layer adhered to the filter medium 5 on the water. This device and an automatically navigating device are equipped on a vessel to make it into the objective vessel for purifying water quality.
