Abstract:
To appropriately detect an area for performing character recognition processing on the basis of a position designated by a user on a screen.SOLUTION: A device displays a preview screen of a scan image represented by scan image data. The device extracts character string areas each presumed as a character string in the scan image, and detects a character string area which at least partially overlaps a selection area based on first coordinates and second coordinates designated in the preview screen as an object area among the extracted character string areas. The device uses characters acquired as a result of character recognition processing of the object area to set information related to the scan image data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
