Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sure feeling of locking shift if the operation load of an axial direction is applied on an operation knob in the operated state of a shift locking mechanism while the length of a shift shaft is short and weight is light, and even if the diameter of the shift shaft is small.
SOLUTION: An engaging portion 15 is formed in a shift shaft 8 between an operation knob 22 and a control member 16. A shift locking mechanism 47 composed of a lock plate 49 and an electromagnetic actuator 50 is disposed outside the radial directions of a bracket 2 and a switch housing 3, the lock plate 49 being supported by the bracket 2 to be engaged/disengaged from the engaging portion 15 so as to prevent/permit the axial movement of the shift shaft 8, and the electromagnetic actuator 50 being connected to the lock plate 49 to actuate the same when the shift shaft 8 is in a parking position P.
