To provide a compact, thin and light antenna, which is inexpensive and improved in directivity, usable for a high frequency band with simple structure by providing island-shaped conductor films on one main surface of a dielectric substrate and providing a slit exposing a dielectric body on one of conductor films on the end face.
A conductor film 11 is formed on the base of the dielectric substrate and this film is defined as a feeding electrode. The conductor film 11 is surrounded with conductor films 12 formed at intervals. On the surface facing the surface on which the conductor films 11 and 12 are formed, a conductor film is formed as well. In order to connect the conductor films on the main surface, conductor films 13 and 14 are formed on the end face as well. A conductor film is formed over all the counter end face. These conductor films are connected to the ground electrode of an external circuit as a ground conductor. A slit 15 extended in the lengthwise direction of the end face is formed on the conductor film 14 and in this part, the dielectric body is exposed. Strong directivity can be provided in the direction connecting the end face, on which the slit 15 is formed, and the counter surface.
