To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable of presenting appropriate program information to a user.

A digital broadcast receiver includes: an information acquiring section for acquiring predetermined information included in a television broadcast wave; a power supply-monitoring section for detecting that a power supply section is initiated and the digital broadcast receiver is brought into a predetermined initiation state; an initiation time-acquiring section for acquiring the time, in which the power supply-monitoring section performs the detection, from a time-measuring section and for recording initiation time information indicative of the time; a calculation section for dividing the time of a predetermined length into a plurality of time zones and calculating, for every time zone, how many times the power supply-monitoring section performs the detection; and an acquisition control section for discriminating the time zone in which the number of times of initiation detection exceeds a predetermined threshold, and for controlling the information acquiring section so as to perform the information acquisition at time earlier than the discriminated time zone by a predetermined time.
