Abstract:
To provide a digital broadcast receiver which can display channel data such as channel numbers only as to channels that can be viewed.
A CPU 58 extracts channel data of free and contracted channels from channel data of all channels and stores the data in a memory 59 on the basis of key data, etc., on an IC card 7. When a menu display command is sent by a remote controller 6, an MPEG decoder 50 generates menu screen data M on the basis of the channel data in the memory 59 and supplies the data to a video decoding circuit 56. The video decoding circuit 56 converts the menu screen data M into an analog menu screen signal and outputs it to a monitor. Consequently, the monitor displays a channel menu as to channels that can be viewed.
