To provide a digital broadcast receiving device capable of monitor-displaying information for data broadcast, using a simple operation.

When power supply of a digital broadcast receiving device is turned on, a set value data stored beforehand is read into a set value memory 24. If the set value data is "1", namely, if displaying of information for data broadcast at the time of starting new viewing is set to "ON", both the signal from a video image decoder 5 and a signal from a data broadcast decoder 7 are outputted to a display portion 11. If, however, the set value data is "0", namely, if displaying of information for data broadcast at the time of starting new viewing is set to "OFF", the signal from the video image decoder 5 is outputted to the display portion 11, but the signal from the data broadcast decoder 7 will not be output to the display portion 11.
