A digital broadcasting receiver has: a channel selection transition information storage section 117 for relating channel selection information to time information for storage; a channel selection transition frequency storage section 118 for relating an occurrence frequency for each channel selection transition combination for storing as channel selection transition frequency information; a channel selection transition update section 111 for updating the channel selection transition frequency information based on the channel selection transition information; a channel selection transition probability calculation section 114 for extracting the channel selection transition combination of which one portion coincides with one portion of channel selection information included in the channel selection transition information, for calculating occurrence probability for each extracted channel selection transition combination as channel selection transition probability based on the occurrence frequency corresponding to the extracted channel selection transition combination, and for extracting the channel selection transition combination of which the channel selection transition probability is maximized as the maximum channel selection transition combination; and a channel selection transition estimation means 110a for deciding a channel next selected by a user with strong possibility based on the maximum channel selection transition combination extracted by the channel selection transition probability calculation section 114.
