Abstract:

To provide a camera allowing a photographer to easily image himself or herself.

A digital camera device is provided, in a digital camera body, with a monitor for displaying a shot image, and includes: an image transmitting means to transmit the shot image to the monitor; a monitor position detecting means to detect the position of the monitor; and a monitoring image control means to control the image to be displayed on the monitor. The monitor is detachably mounted to the digital camera body. When the position of the monitor detected by the monitor position detecting means is located in an imaging direction relative to the digital camera body, the monitoring image control means horizontally flips the shot image to be displayed on the monitor.
