To provide a management method for appropriately managing a digital certificate.
The digital certificate management method includes: a registration means for registering, in a predetermined registration area, data in a storage area whose status information is "in alteration" and data in a storage area whose status information indicates "in-use", the data being not altered from the data in the storage area whose status information indicates "in alteration", among data stored in a first storage means; a determination means for determining whether pair information included in the registered data match data other than the pair information; a correction means for correcting or registering one or more of the pair information, the data other than the pair information, and unregistered data according to predetermined conditions when they do not match each other; a process continuation means for carrying on an interrupted update process for digital certificate based upon the registered data; a deletion means for deleting data which do not match other data; and a write means for writing the registered data in a second storage means while making them correspond to "in-use" status information.
