PURPOSE: To improve drawing efficiency by sensing the amount of the movement of the drawing device from a certain point, comparing said data and the amount of stored data for next plotting position, and indicating direction of the succeeding movement of the drawing device.

CONSTITUTION: The amount of movements in the X and Y directions of the drawing device, which can be manually moved in the directions of the X axis and Y axis and can plot a small dot at an arbitrary position, are sensed. The counted amount is compared with the digital amount of the preliminarily stored succeeding position to be plotted, and the direction of the next movement of said drawing device is indicated based on the difference. For example, the position on the X axis obtained by an X axis counter block comprising a sensor 13 and a counter 14 is compared with the position on the X axis which is prelininarily given to a memory circuit 19 in a comparator 12. Arrow marks which indicate upward or downward direction of the succeeding movement are displayed on a display 22 via driving parts 20 and 21. The same procedures are applied to the Y axis direction.
