The processor 10 operates in the following way according to the instructions of the program 20: the processor 10 detects face areas RT covering persons' faces shown within a picture shown by the picture data 31, and extracts characteristic quantities about the face areas RT; based on the characteristic quantities extracted, the processor 10 then selects from among the plurality of face areas RT the face area RT that shows the person to which the picture should be distributed as the selected face area; the processor 10 then executes a process to distribute the picture to the person shown in the selected face area.
