Abstract:
To provide a digital signal recorder which can use a recording medium effectively and can prevent recording mistakes.
This digital signal recorder is provided with an information type detection means 6, which detects the type of an inputted information signal, an encoding means 4 which encodes the information signal into a compressed digital information signal of a prescribed transfer rate and recording means 14 and 15, which record the digital signals on a recording medium 16 at a prescribed medium running speed. Then a control means 8 sets the transfer rate of the means 4 and the medium running speed of the means 14 and 15, according to the result of detection of the means 6.
