PURPOSE: To accurately read and reproduce a digital sound signal by making video film supplied in an unstable state travel in a video film traveling path in a stable state.
CONSTITUTION: A digital sound signal reading means 20 is installed to a sound drum 13 where the video film 1 supplied from a video film supply device 50 circulates and travels, and the digital sound signal recorded on the digital sound signal recording part of the film 1 is read and reproduced. A video film traveling adjusting device 30 is disposed at the prestage position of the video film traveling path at least on the drum 13. The device 30 makes traveling load act in accordance with the traveling state of the film 1 so as to make the film 1 travel in the stable state to the means 20, whereby the digital sound signal is read and reproduced.
