Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimmer light lighting apparatus capable of the on/off operation of the light source with an arbitrary light output, without using a large capacity power supply cut device.
SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a DC power supply E, an inverter circuit 1 for inverting the output to a high-frequency power, a resonance circuit excited to resonate by the output of the inverter circuit 1, a discharge lamp 2 driven by the resonance of the resonance circuit, a modulated light control circuit 4 for controlling the light output of the discharge lamp 2 by changing the switching frequency of the inverter circuit 1 according to the on-duty of a PWM signal inputted as a modulated light signal, a detection circuit 12 for detecting the rate of changing of the on-duty of the PWM signal, and a discharge lamp off/on control circuit 13 for turning off or on the discharge lamp 2, when the rate of changing of the on-duty of the PWM signal is determined to be than a prescribed value or higher.
