NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I [wherein R1 is acyl; X1 is a phenylalanine group, etc., bonded to R1 at the terminal N atom and to X2 at the terminal C atom; X2 is a histidine group, etc., bonded to X1 at the terminal N atom and to -NH- group at the terminal C atom; R2 is 4-6C cycloalkyl; R3 is CHR6R7 (wherein R6 is H or OH; and R7 is a pyridinyl ring); X3 is (substd.) alkylene; and R4 and R5 are each H, 1-4C alkyl, etc.], its salt, and its solvate.
EXAMPLE: N-[5[(4-aminobutyl)aminol2S-hydroxy-5-oxo1S-(cyclohexylmethyl)-4R-(4- pyridinylmethyl)1-pentyl]-[N[ethoxycarbonyl]-L(O-methyl)tyrosinyl]-L- histidinamide.
USE: Remedy for hypertension, hyperaldosteronism, cardiac incompetence, congestive malum cordis, posterior cardiac infarction, cerebral angiopathy, glaucoma, and intracellular constancy disturbance.
PROCESS: A lactone represented by formula II is reacted with a diamine represented by formula III, and if necessary the protective group is removed.
