Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new diphenylamine derivative useful as a charge injection and transport and a luminous materials for a fluorescent coating and an electroluminescent element.
CONSTITUTION: This diphenylamine derivative is expressed by formula I [X is anthracenyl, phenanthrenyl, pyrenyl or perylenyl (which can be substituted with a halogen, amino, cyano, an alkoxycarbonyl, an alkyl, an alkoxy, allyl or an aralkyl); (n) is 1-10; R1 to R9 each is H, F, Cl, Br, amino, cyano, an alkoxycarbonyl, an alkyl, an alkoxy, allyl or an aralkyl], e.g. N,N'-di(9- anthrylethyl)-N,N'-diphenylbenzidine. The compound expressed by formula I is obtained by coupling an aromatic carboxylic acid derivative expressed by formula II with a diphenylbenzidine derivative expressed by formula III and reducing the resultant amide compound.
