PURPOSE: To restrain the wear of end part weir, to prevent leakage accident of molten metal and to stably obtain a strip without any burr by descending freely sliding the end part weir with the end face of twin rolls by a sliding descent means and making to push it to end faces of the twin rolls by a back-up means.
CONSTITUTION: The end part weir 2 is pushed to the end face of the twin rolls 1, 1' by the back-up means containing a cushion material 3, case 4 and cylinder rod 5 for air pressure cylinder. Further, the end part weir 2 is continuously supplied through an end part weir pressing holder 6 by the sliding descent means toward casting direction 12 at the constant velocity 12 by a motor-driven jack 7. In this way, as the new material is supplied in accordance with the wear of weir and the wear of the end part weir is restrained, the leakage accident of molten metal is prevented.
