Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain the dispersion of fuel between a squish area side and a cavity combustion chamber 5 side.SOLUTION: A lip part 12 having a reentrant-type cavity combustion chamber 5 at the center of a piston 1 and becoming the smallest in diameter at its inlet is located at a position descending from a piston apex 13 to a piston axial direction. A fuel injection nozzle 6 has a first injection hole group in which a spray center axial line F1 is oriented slightly upwardly rather than an upper edge 12a of the lip part 12, and a second injection hole group in which a spray center axial line F2 is oriented slightly downwardly rather than a lower edge 12c of the lip part 12. A spray of the first injection hole group collides with an inclined face 14a, and is guided to a squish area side, a spray of the second injection hole group collides with an inclined face 15, and is guided into the cavity combustion chamber 5, and thus stable dispersion can be obtained.
