PURPOSE: To provide the direct positive silver halide color photographic sensitive material capable of forming a positive color image high in maximum density and low in minimum density and good in whiteness.
CONSTITUTION: This direct positive silver halide photographic sensitive material is characterized by having at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing a color coupler and nonprefogged internal latent image type silver halide grains and at least one nonphotosensitive layer on a support, and executing nucleation of these silver halide grains and/or a part or all of the crystal growth of them in the presence of a natural material and/or a synthetic compound having protective colloid performance, and containing a nuclear developing agent in at least one of the emulsion layer and the nonphotosensitive layer. The method for forming the color image and the color proof is characterized by processing this photosensitive material by using a specified developing agent.
