Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting apparatus without boosting voltage in electrode preheating.
SOLUTION: It comprises a transformer 21 whose one end of first winding is connected to a third switching means 23 and second winding is connected to each electrode 9a, 9b of a discharging lamp. It supplies a high frequency power generated in the connection point of a first and second switching means 4, 5 to the transformer 21 when turning on the third switching means 23 as well as alternatively turning on and off the first and the second switching means 4, 5 when applying a utility power supply and so preheats each of the electrodes 9a, 9b of the discharging lamp 9.
