Abstract:
To provide a method to achieve data optimum arrangement for exhibiting stable processing performance.SOLUTION: A disk array device has dummy I/O issuing means for issuing a plurality of kinds of dummy I/Os which are pseudo I/Os for each of a plurality of storage devices constituting a logical disk; performance information acquisition means for acquiring performance information with respect to the dummy I/O for each combination of the storage device and the dummy I/O; rank setting means for setting the rank of the storage device for each dummy I/O based on the performance information; and for I/Os issued from the host device, data arrangement destination determining means for selecting the similar dummy I/O from among the plurality of types of dummy I/O for I/O issued from a host device, and determines to arrange data to the storage device having the highest rank set for the selected dummy I/O.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
