To provide a disk drive unit in which a braking effect for stopping a disk that is rotating by inertia is stable when a tray is pulled out.
In this disk driving device 1, a device main body 3 is provided with the tray 2 that is freely movable between a loading position and an unloading position. The tray 2 is provided with a braking member 12, and when the tray 2 is moved from the loading position to the unloading position, a slidably contacting part 16 of the braking member 12 is brought into slidable contact with an outer circumference or a non-recording surface of a disk to brake the inertial rotation of the disk. A part of the braking member 12 other than the disk slidably contacting part 16 is sometimes arranged on the bottom face side of the tray 2.
