To provide an illumination unit without lowering luminance in an illuminating portion, without a light guide body used in various electronic equipment.
This dispersion-type electroluminescent element 20 is formed by sequentially laminating and printing a light transmitting electrode layer 22, made of paste obtained by dispersing light transmitting conductive powder into a flexible light transmitting insulate resin, a light emitting layer 3, a dielectric layer 4 and back electrode layer 5, onto a light transmitting insulating film 21. The electroluminescent element 20 is formed into a shape suiting to a case shape of a product to be illuminated, that is, into a shape provided with projective parts 23A and is loaded as a part of the case member. This can realize an illumination unit 24 without lowering the luminance in the illumination portion and having high illumination efficiency, without requiring a light guide body.
