The device inputs a touch point of a touch made on a predetermined surface and a coordinate which indicates a position to which this touch point moved on the surface, and a stop time calculating part 1003 determines the time during which the touch point stopped on the input coordinate. A region determining part 1005 determines whether the coordinate corresponds to a region on a display screen. When it is determined that the coordinate corresponds to a predetermined region and that the touch point is a stop touch, a display controlling part 1007 switches display control of the display screen either to hand written character input APL 1009 or to software keyboard 1011APL.
