PURPOSE: To avoid the deterioration of the operability and to eliminate the sense of incompatibility of operation in a display control system, by changing the display of operating symbols on a screen and the interpretation of the information received from an information input means based on the information given from an operating arm instruction means.

CONSTITUTION: A keyboard 22 is included in a key input part and a mouse 23 is added to a selective input part. Then one of function keys set on the keyboard is used as an operating arm instruction means 21. An operator supplies the operating arm information in response to the operating arm. A control part 24 performs its processing based on the input information given from an input part 22 and displays the necessary information at a display part 25. In this case, the direction of a mouse cursor and the form and the display position of an icon are decided by reference to the function key allocated as the means 21 of the part 23. Thus it is possible to change the display in response to the operating arm and therefore to avoid the deterioration of the operability and to eliminate the sense of the incompatibility of operation in a display control system.
