Title:
DISPLAY DEVICE, ITS DRIVING METHOD AND DISPLAY ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3723747
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce flickering, luminance inclination, video signal driving circuit IC voltages and horizontal cross talk in a display device.
SOLUTION: The display device has a plurality of pixel electrodes 5 which are arranged in a matrix, thin film transistors 3 which are connected to the electrodes 5, scanning electrodes 1, video signal electrodes 2, common electrodes 4 and opposing electrodes. A liquid crystal is inserted as a display medium between the pixel electrodes and the opposing electrodes. In the above structure, let the capacitance between the scanning electrodes and the pixel electrodes be Cgd, the capacitance between the common electrodes and the pixel electrodes be Cst and the sum of all capacitances electrically connected to the pixel electrodes be Ctot. Then, αgd=Cgd/Ctot and αst=Cst/Ctot and αgd and αst are made to have different values at the closer portion and at the further portion from a power feeding end in a screen.
