A display device includes a stepping motor for driving a rocking driving shaft supporting an indicating needle in the normal rotation and in the reverse rotation; an initial position detection sensor for detecting the initial rocking position of the indicating needle; an initial position storage means for storing the initial position of the stepping motor corresponding to the initial position of the rocking position of the indicating needle; a swinging width storage means for storing the maximum rocking position on one side and the symmetrical maximum rocking position on the other side, centered at the initial position; a stepping motor control means for controlling the stepping motor; a tuning signal generation means for comparing the frequency of a musical sound to be tuned with the frequency of a sound of each sound name determined beforehand, and inputting a signal for rotating the indicating needle corresponding to agreement or disagreement into the stepping motor control means; and a metronome signal generation means for allowing rocking between the maximum rocking position on one side and the maximum rocking position on the other side.
