To improve a contrast ratio by providing a field light emitting display element and a semi-transmissive member arranged all over the surface of the field light emitting display element and further providing a visor member arranged at an acute angle to the field light emitting display element.
This device is provided with a field light emitting display element (organic EL) 8 and a semi-transmissive member (smoke board) 15 arranged all over the surface of the organic EL 8 and further provided with a visor member (visor) 16 arranged at an acute angle to the smoke board 15. The transmissivity of the smoke board 15 is about 40%, this board is composed of semi-transmissive resins (polycarbonate, for example), and the surface thereof is coated with an antireflection layer. Thus, external light (a) such as sunlight and its reflected light (c) pass through the smoke board 15 twice totally so as to be reduced into 16% (40%×40%) but since display light (b) passes through the smoke board 15 just once so that the display contrast ratio of the organic EL 8 can be improved.
