Abstract:
To provide a display device in which a background on the other side opposite to one surface of a display panel is visible from the one surface side and reproducibility of colors of an image displayed on the display panel can be improved.SOLUTION: The display device includes: a liquid crystal layer having a polymer dispersion type liquid crystal sealed between a first light-transmitting substrate and a second light-transmitting substrate; at least one light-emitting part disposed to face at least one side face of the first light-transmitting substrate and the second light-transmitting substrate; and a display control unit which includes an external light analyzing part 412 for setting a second color gamut different from a first color gamut that can be displayed under the condition of no external light, based on a signal of input external information, and a signal adjusting part 414 for converting colors in a first pixel input signal into a second pixel input signal in such a manner that a color shift in a second reproduced color reproduced in the second color gamut is reduced compared to a first reproduced color reproduced in the first color gamut based on the first pixel input signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
