Abstract:
PURPOSE:To spatialy overlap two-pieces of color display information with remote image information and to excellently observe them in the same visual field by normally reflecting, and reflection-diffracting two pieces of display information having spectral characteristics through the use of a light deflecting member possessing a prescribed light transmissive diffraction grating. CONSTITUTION:The light transmissive light deflecting member 60 is formed by fixing a voluminous phase type transparent substrate 71 which reflects and diffracts mainly green light on the transparent substrate 50. The incident surface 48 of the transparent substrate 50 serves as the reflecting surface of a half mirror etc., and is coated with a film reflecting mainly red light. The green light 110 from a CRT 73 provided in the vicinity of the light deflecting member 60 is reflected and diffracted by the diffraction grating 71 to become a luminous flux 111, which is led to an observer 72. On the other hand, the red light from a CRT 74 is reflected on the reflecting surface 48 to become a luminous flux 109, which is led to the observer 72. Thus, the green color display information on the CRT 73 and the red color display information on the CRT 74 are spatialy overlapped with the image information 76 such as background, and they can be simultaneously observed in the same visual field.
