To provide a display front plate with satisfactory contrast and color reproducibility of image by setting specified three beam transmittances so as to have a specified relation.
When emission intensities of red/green/blue are compared in a plasma display, the intensity is increased in the order of red > green > blue in most cases. Therefore, this front plate is set so that the beam transmittance of wavelength 450 nm is larger than the beam transmittance of wavelength 525 nm, and the beam transmittance of wavelength 525 nm is larger than the beam transmittance of wavelength 630 nm. Accordingly, the emission intensity ratio of red/green/blue can be corrected to improve the color reproducibility of image. When the beam transmittance of wavelength 450 nm of the front plate is 1, the beam transmittance of wavelength 525 nm is set within the range of 0.80-0.95, and the beam transmittance of wavelength 630 nm is set within the range of 0.65-0.90, whereby the color reproducibility of image can be preferably improved more. In this case, the beam transmittances of wavelengths 450 nm, 525 nm and 630 nm are preferably close to the reciprocal of the ratio of emission intensity of red/green/blue of the display.
