Abstract:

PURPOSE: To display an image which is originally displayed by a matrix of the number of picture elements, which exceeds the resolution of a display device, by processing with a reconstitution algorithm a residual image signal and detailed image signals by retrieval and correction and operating the signals which are correction-processed in the respective images.
CONSTITUTION: An optically stimulable phosphor screen 3 is exposed 2 to X rays passing through an object and a radiation image is recorded. The screen 3 is transported by a cassette having EEPROM. The image signal is decomposed into a detailed image component and a residual image component in a series of plural resolution levels and the image signals of the respective components are preserved in a memory. The preserved detail image signals are retrieved and pixel values are corrected and the pixel values of a corrected detail image signal group is generated. A retrieval operation is restricted so that resolution after the processing becomes not more than the resolution of a display device. The residual image signal and the retrieved and corrected detailed image signals are processed by a reconstitution algorithm by such a method that an original image or the image which is closely approximated is generated, and the image signals are calculated.
