To provide a display panel having a configuration capable of improving the problem of strength deterioration in the display panel subjected to a thickness reduction.
The display panel is provided with a display cell 1 having a pair of transparent substrates 2, 3 disposed to face each other and a sealing material disposed in a rectangular shape to surround a display region on the inner surface of each of the transparent substrates 2, 3, and transparent film-like members 5, 6 disposed to correspond to the display region on the outside diameter of at least one of the transparent substrates 2, 3 of the display cell 1. Recessed parts 7, 8, the bases of which are formed to a plane shape, are formed to correspond to the display region on the inner side of the outer circumferential edge on the outer surfaces of the transparent substrates 2, 3. The transparent film-like members 5, 6 are attached to the bases of the recessed parts 7, 8.
