PURPOSE: To obtain a thin and compact a display picture drawing tablet by using a single sheet of substrate which serves as a liquid crystal display panel of said tablet and a digitizer.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display panel 1 of a display picture drawing tablet serves as a digitizer sensor panel. The electrodes 4 serving as the upper electrodes of the panel 1 and the X coordinate electrodes of a digitizer are arranged in parallel on the lower surface side of a glass substrate 2. While the electrodes 5 serving as the lower electrodes of the panel 1 and the Y coordinate electrodes of the digitizer are arrayed on the upper surface side of the other glass substrate 3 in the direction intersecting orthogonally with the electrodes 4 (a grid form including both electrodes 4 and 5). Then the liquid crystal is filled between both substrates 2 and 3 with electrodes 4 and 5 connected to switches 10 and 11 respectively. At the same time, the data buses 6 and 8, etc., are connected to the switches 10 and switched to either one side by the timing signal supplied to a mode selecting signal line 12. In such a constitution a compact display picture drawing tablet is obtained.
